Berry good for you.

For those of you like myself* who are unfamiliar with Haw, I went straight to the world wide web to do my research on the Hawthorn berry. What the web tells me is this little red fruit can lower blood pressure and cholesterol, reduce inflammation, improve skin health, and aid digestion. It may have anti-aging properties and reduce anxieties as well. A picture of the miracle berries appears on the label of this brew. This beer sounds like a healthy alternative to… well everything! Cure for aging. Lower cholesterol. This lager has it all. Perhaps a regular quaffing could even take the place of the Beach Ball Fitness Program™.

I thought I’d check out the ingredients list to see just how much Haw per can I was quaffing. Malted barley, hops, yeast, and water. Hey Manitoulin, where’s my miracle berry?  Not even a ml of Haw. A big brew haw over nothing. Oh well, this beer may not be the fountain of youth but a good beer sure is great for my mental health. Let’s see if this one fits the bill.

A nice clear golden pour, devoid of any healthy fruit. A light slight head adornment. It smells,,,, cold. Seriously, it does. First quaff results in a nice malt flavour, not hoppy and no lager sweet. It has a crisp finish. Is it my glass making it taste like a Pilsner? A fresh malt flavour, a great taste, with a nice crisp finish. Refreshingly refreshing. Mental health in order for the time being.**
