Toasts to the ghosts! All hallows eve and the neighbourhood youth are out in full force. The grandkids got a haul of candy that would choke Willie Wonka. Unfortunately, when it comes to my favourite, the red licorice, the pickin’s were as slim as Paris runway model.

Cranky young man
Me: What are you dressed up as?
Grandson: A cranky old man.
Me: That’s not what a cranky old man looks like.
Grandon: Yes you do.
Smart ass, I don’t know where he gets it from.*
Often a nitro will have instructions on the can, always much appreciated. It seems in this case that 5 Paddles has made the beer name the instructions. In Your Face was exactly what I was planning for this skull ensconced can of craft.
Light orange and crazy hazy, it has the appearance of OJ juiciness. A nice white skull cap. A hoppy happy aroma, fruitful. First taste in the face is a full almost creamy mouthfeel with nice tropical juice and mellow hops, touch of bitters. Great combination, even delivery, all nicely balanced. A classic IPA. I paired this brew with a couple of those Halloween chip bags, 7 chips to a bag give or take, many more from the bags pulverized at the bottom of the trick or treat sack.
Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker, and I quite enjoyed this brew as we mellowed together after a hectic evening of treat giving to the Halloween hordes.
