A dark red pour, closing in on amber and slightly hazy. A nice fresh IPA aroma, a bit of hops a bit of citrus, it smells delicious. The first swig was a bit fizzy, not as much as my recent Ale Rousse but somewhat reminiscent. It has a subdued IPA taste with more citrus than pine, with a slight bitter finish. Will it evolve? Yes it will.
As the initial fizz subsided a nice IPA flavour with some malt overtones came into play as well. Still a bit of a bitter and buzzy finish but that was OK. Some would say a complex brew, Cowbell calls it “dangerously delicious”. I don’t know about “dangerous”, I never feared for my life while drinking it. I would just call it a great tasting red.
