Just like the Grinch, this acronym had me puzzling till my puzzler was sore. Or is it an acronym at all? C.R.E.A.M. Craft Reaches Excellence in Achieving Maltiness. Catch the Riptide Eventually After Midnight. Cream Recipe Entices All Men. All of these are more of a stretch than a cranky old man in spandex. Acronym be damned, my puzzler is on pause while I partake in this Prince Eddy’s pint.

Surfs up!
I have had the pleasure of visiting the Picton sandbanks a few times back in the day, but I don’t recall any palm trees or surf boards. The Bay of Quinte* doesn’t have much of a tide, maybe some white caps on occasion but nobody is catching the curl or cutting back off the crest. What I do recall about the Sandbanks is that a good time was had by all.
Time for a cream ale assessment. A sunburnt golden hue of a brew, with a light white sandbanks beach head. A malty aroma, sure smells tasty. And malty it is, with a sweet lager personality and a smooth slightly dry finish. Malt and sweet nicely balanced by the dry ale bit of bitters at the end. A smooth mouthfeel rounds out the experience. Time for the big swig test, and it graduates with honours. Hanging ten in perfect balance.
Exactly what you want in a cream ale, well exactly what I wanted anyway.
