“U” can make a difference.
Consumer activism in action! We had previously reviewed this Mascot pilsner * and had torn them a second one for them succumbing to the Americanized spellcheck. They described their beer as “flavorful” rather than the Canadian spelling of “flavourful”. This new and we would say improved can of Dirty Ol’ Pilly says that this beer is “flavour made easy.” That extra “u” garnered you a kudos. Well done Mascot.
As for the beer, last time we loved the beer but not the spelling. This time around we love the beer and the spelling too. Mascot was brewing the pilsner with a citrus twist before the West Coast Pilsners started coming out, trail brewing so to speak.
A nice bright lemony pour. A pale ale kind of aroma going on, a West Coast pils thing happening here. The taste is citrus fresh with a nice dry finish, easy drinking and very refreshing. Good news, it’s a big swigger, with a fruit finish to go with the pils dry, and no bitters or acerbic notes on the play sheet.
This is a tasty west coast style pils balanced with just the right amount of citrus. This one is even better than last time, because they spelled flavour with a “u”.
