Joe Friday and George Thorogood are at the bar. George says, “Hey Joe, how about one bourbon, one scotch and one beer?” Joe Friday just shakes his head at his drinking buddy and looks to the lady behind the bar and says “Just the Faxe, Ma’am.”*
Poured this big brown bad boy and quaffed 500 ml of Amber excess while the Leafs took the Islanders to school. Nice amber pour (surprise) and a light amber aroma, not as strong an aroma as I expected. Once I had a drink I understood why. Light and refreshing but definitely not as heavy or substantial as some craft ambers. My first thought was a watery mouth feel. This put me off a bit, like how anyone would react to an amber light (lite), I slowed down but I didn’t stop. I grew accustomed to this easy drinking amber and started to enjoy it although not as much as some of the better craft ambers out there. I wanted a fuller flavour but it gave me an easy drinking amber lite style beer. I will admit it was easy drinking. Probably brewed for the big beer market rather than craft beer lovers.
