A pilsner style lager. Hoppy and crisp they say, sounds like an IPA. Can we squeeze anymore brew types in there? I know for sure it isn’t a stout. Might as well just call it beer.
Apparently Gravenhurst was a training center for Norwegian Airmen during world war two. I guess landing on a piddly ass little air strip was good training for wartime aviation. Summer by the lake wasn’t a bad assignment before engaging in the horrors of war. I would hazard to guess that they quaffed a few cold ones in their time, hopefully after a training flight, not before. With all those Norwegians roaming around town Gravenhurst became known as Little Norway.
Sawdust has done a great job on this lager style pilsner. Crisp for sure, very refreshing. I didn’t notice the hoppy at all. The lager/pilsner combination had me wondering but it really works well. A great frosty cold summertime beverage of choice. Perfect for dock or deck or patio or your garage for that matter, wherever you drink outdoors in the summer.
