Here I am watching hockey and drinking a Centre Cut #3 baseball brew from our friends out in Left Field. I appreciate the Canadian spelling of the word centre, even though my spell check doesn’t, must be American software, Eh. Speaking of American, I’m watching the Junior hockey championship game last night, USA Sweden. It’s a shame that Canada wasn’t in it, but no point in crying over it, or spilt milk for that matter. Anyway, exciting game, USA had a one goal lead at the end of the second period. Not on the edge of my seat but still in my seat and to be honest, cheering for the Americans, I mean I married one, didn’t I.

The Twilight Zone epsiode “The Bard” in which Rocky Rhodes (Burt Reynolds) gets punched by William Shakespeare (John Williams)
Intermission and no Don Cherry, so I change the channel to Sportsnet, you know, one of those shows that have those young know it all commentators that have never played anything in their life other than Minecraft. Anyway, they show the final score of the game I’m watching! USA 6, Swedes 2. What the hell is that all about? Turns out the game I’m watching was played earlier in the day Swede time, and I’m watching a replay. It’s a made in Canada Twilight Zone episode, maybe Rod Serling should have been the commentator. “Picture if you will a desperate and confused Swedish hockey team. A Cinderella story home ice championship that has gone sadly and strangely awry. You have just crossed over the blue line and entered into The Twilight Zone. ”** Made the third period a bit less tense to watch for a USA fan that’s for sure.
Great looking golden orange pour with an icy white topper. A stubby standout. A hoppy funky tropical juice of an aroma. This triple Citra hop experiment yields a tropical juice with a hoppy backdrop, leading to some downplayed grapefruit bitters. Great sequence, great combo, and great balance lead to a great IPA.*** This exploration brew hasn’t found any new worlds, they didn’t even use Columbus hops, but they sure came up with a tasty IPA. Well done Left Field.
