Just like Anderson Craft Ales, I’m not fooling around this time. Just going to get right down to it. No need for the COMDB translation department, or any comments from the Department of Morality, or even the Department of Corrections for that matter. And I’m not going to talk about fishing, or the Leafs or the Oilers or the Raptors or the Blue Jays (shut out win yesterday, well done) or the Dallas Cowboys. We aren’t going to hear about RA’s dog with digestive tract issues, or our own buffalo breathed ankle humper that I did have to walk mid-tasting last night.

Nope, I’m not going to go off on a tangent about some 70’s rock icons, or trivia about some song, or some black and white movie or TV show. No references to Bugs Bunny or Dr. Suess. No lane puns while driving (couldn’t resist). No comments about how “frugal” Farmer Steve is or Fonger’s penchant for tea of the rolled variety.  Or JT’s clarity on our COMDB financial situation.

And I am definitely not going to ramble on about Greek or Roman myths or biblical references. No need to talk about my light beer or the beach ball fitness regime on this review. No Jeopardy fodder, history lessons are a thing of the past. No questionable and highly suspect advice on beer tasting. No poet’s corner or attempts to add some culture to a website that is primarily focused on securing free beer.

No site visit reviews or conference shenanigans. No old, tired similes that are more irritating than a stone in your shoe, or in your kidney for that matter. No cumbersome cliches, we aren’t going to waste time, we are going to make time. Because when all is said and done, more is said than done. And you can say that again.* No TLA’s (three letter acronyms) or any awkward alliterations.

Now that we have that cleared up we can get right down to it with this brew review.

A bright golden hazy pour with a bright white slim slip of a head. Classic. First sniff hops ahoy, second sniff tutti frutti, oh rootie.** Based on the aroma I’m not sure what to expect. However, what I got was citrus and tropical fruit, not too hoppy and with grapefruit bitters, but also with a fruit finish and aftertaste. Nice. Capital R refreshing. A bit fizzy with the bitters, are those bizzers? A well balanced, tasty, traditional and refreshing IPA. This is back to basics, classic, and very good.

When all is said and done, as in right now, well done.

*Editor’s Comment: And again, and again.

**Editor’s Comment: It seems our reviewer also couldn’t resist sticking in a 50’s rock and roll reference. “Tutti Frutti”, released in 1955, was Little Richard’s first hit. Apparently his original lyrics, “tutti frutti, good booty” with a number of graphic sexual references, had to be revised significantly by the record company before the song could be released.
