High Grass? Lemongrass and ginger? Cannabis Dry Ginger Ale? Sounds like a drink Fonger would order. * High grass could also refer to the usual destination of my drives on the links, unless of course there is water on the course. You gotta have balls to play golf like I do.
But this High Grass is a saison and our brew du jour, what the fine folks at Second Wedge call a classic. They tell me it’s a “palate pleasing” pint, and I tell them that I’ll be the judge of that.
A clear light golden pour, and it appears that the grass was recently mowed because there is no head to be had. Ginger Ale nose. Ginger Ale taste without the fizz. Flat Ginger Ale. It has a very slight bitter aftertaste, it’s only real distinguishing feature.
A fairly pedestrian pint, for sure. But before you assume this beer’s ass is grass, it actually was refreshing when it was frosty cold. Definitely made for some daytime drinkin’ on a walk on the sun hot day.
