I have been critical of CA in the past for not having more Canadian artwork on their beer labels, so this time around I must give them kudos for featuring Keight Maclean of Toronto in honour of International Women’s Day.
After admiring the artwork it was time to get down to business, beer drinking business that is. Good work if you can get it.
Golden pour, hazy with a few bubbles. A very thin almost not there wisp of a head to it. A slightly hoppy aroma, lots of citrus noticeable. First swig was a bit fizzy, a little bitter and hoppy but definitely more fruit in the mix. A nice, mellow IPA, not much zing or bite but lots of grapefruit which produced the bitter at the end. In fact the bitter appeared to be part of the fruit rather than separate from it which is why I thought of grapefruit rather than just citrus. Not balanced, citrus forward for sure. It was a nice mellow taste to start with but the combination starts to wear thin near the end. Still an enjoyable NE IPA.
