When I saw the name Big Rig I was immediately reminded of the Stompin’ Tom song Margo’s Cargo. “Margo’s got the cargo b’y, And Reggie’s got the rig.”* Margo’s cargo was a cow, a pig and a truck load of dung. This Big Rig is hauling not just any pilsner but a premium one. With 5 self-bestowed stars to boot. This must be some great pilsner, right?
Nice clear golden pour, a few bubbles and a bit of a premium head on top. A flat aroma, malt in the background but not much else there. First swig is OK, malt and a bit grainy. A unique pilsner, seems like a combo of malt forward but with a European grainy taste too. The graininess faded a bit, which was good, but it never went away. All OK.
Not sure about the 5 stars but this was a good pilsner.
