On another adventure with Muskoka Mad Tom, this time he is in the desert with a canteen full of this hazy pale ale. Me, I’m scorching steaks on a unseasonably hot evening and a frosty pale ale seemed to make all kinds of sense, although a chilled glass won out over a canteen.
Hazy pale ale to be precise. And hazy it is, grapefruit juice hazy. As hazy as my memory after a weekend at JT’s cottage. Beautiful golden yellow hazy pour with a thin white head that quickly disappeared into the haze. A citrus aroma, very nice. A hazy mouthfeel if such a thing is possible. Fruit but with a pine and hoppy taste, all mellow and well balanced.
A great beer for a hot day, delicious and mellowing, left me in a hazy daze with a grin on my chin. Possibly the best Mad Tom offering to date.
