When I first saw the comic strip “Too Much Coffee Man” * I thought it was the unauthorized biography of Farmer Steve. You see, while you’re on your second cup, he is on his second pot. His morning quaff is a carafe. A real caf-fiend. Our COMDB coffee man.
I must admit, a cup of java hot as lava on a cool morning, with the fireplace flickering and burning off the early chill, the sunrise sending a shimmer across the smooth as glass waters, the lake ready for a cast of thousands and a catch of one or two, is an idyllic morning in my books. A beer first thing? Not so much. Kris and Jim and Sheryl ** can have their breakfast beers but an I Hop bacon and eggs brew is not my thing.
On my last visit to Lake of Bays I picked up a Morning Joe, my evening wing can for a Blue Jays win. A coffee stout that we are hoping is just right coffee man. A dark imposing and most likely caffeinated pour, headless, no latte this one. It smells like a Tim Hortons 20 minutes always fresh. The taste is definitely coffee and more cocoa sweet than I had expected. A cocoa coffee combo of a craft. A light watery mouthfeel. As progress is made all parts have mellowed in equal measure, including me. Now the brew is balanced, I’m not too sure about me. A flat semi-dry finish which is a nice follow. A well-proportioned coffee cocoa in equal measure stout and that makes it just right.
I’m not much of a day drinker and definitely not the morning after the night before, but this brew could without a doubt be my last coffee of the day.
Morning Joe is no regular Joe, but a new super suds hero, Too Much Coffee Man’s new sidekick, Just Right Coffee Man.***

I love it.
