According to the can this is “a strong lager with the kick of a goat”. Although often the story on the can is fiction, some would say “pour” fiction no less, in this case I would agree. A kick in the head by a goat is not near the top of my leisure time list. That being said, I was intrigued to try this strong Bock.
First quaff was an aggressive taste, a touch too much for me. I recently had an 8% stout which smoothed out nicely, so I was waiting for the goat to smooth out but the transition didn’t happen. A series of kicks to the head. So this goat was a rough ride for me. No shortage of flavour that’s for sure, but I don’t think this beer is for the faint of heart, or anyone with a heart condition for that matter.
I don’t think I will have another, so I guess the Bock stops here.
