Spoiler Alert! If you haven’t seen the saddest movie Disney ever made, don’t.* You will be depressed for a week. If you must subject yourself to such self imposed emotional damage by watching the movie Old Yeller then don’t read the rest of this brew review.
Long before Arnold said it, Travis Coates told us “I’ll be back” and he promised.** Of course Old Yeller couldn’t make the same promise (pause for uncontrollable sob). Old Dog tell us this Yellow Lab could be our new best friend. Will it be as loyal, as heroic, as gosh darn lovable as Old Yeller? One can hope.
A golden clear pour, no hair of the dog in this one. A light malt with apple fruit aroma. First quaff is a malt mild fruit fizz with a dry crisp pilsner finish. It is every bit a pilsner in my books. Refreshing and easy drinking, a good solid lager. It started very clear but turned slightly hazy, a chemical reaction in the Lab?
Old Dog isn’t learning any new tricks here, just a good basic lager. Not my new best friend but this Lab had a better finish than Old Yeller that’s for sure.
