From the quaint hamlet of Elora and the famous Elora Gorge comes a feisty brew, Lady Friend IPA. Not sure what the name has to do with the beer or what a woman giving a bear a stiff upper cut has to do with anything let alone the price of tea in China, but that is what we have to deal with here.
Nice fresh aroma, piney rather than fruity I would say. Nice bright pour, foamy bright white head, a bit hazy but so am I sometimes so we won’t hold that against it. The first swig had a bit of a bite to it, again the pine not the fruit. Hoppy but not bitter. That bite settled into a nice refreshing traditional IPA, maybe our feisty lady friend put that biting bear in its place?
A refreshing and enjoyable traditional IPA. I wish I had another in the old beer fridge as a follow-up but it had a bit of a kick to it so if I had two in a row I expect the bear would win?
