My old concert going buddy Scotty C sent us a comment making a request for “more song and dance and more Lager reviews”. Some people sing like a bird, I sing like a frog. And dance for me is my left foot being introduced to my right foot. But one thing I can do is Lager.
NCTB is taking us to school with their back to basics Beer 101 Lager. I must admit that for me school has never been so enjoyable. This time around I’m paying attention, taking notes, and drinking it all in. Time for this lager blogger to do a course review.
A golden pour a bit darker than some. Minimal head count. Malty aroma, no surprises so far. First taste is malt with bitters, not as smooth as some lagers but a robust malt, almost like an amber ale. Easy drinking with a bitters going to crisp finish. A touch of lager sweet comes and goes. This is a good solid refreshing lager with a little something extra. Crafty.
The COMDB translation department tells us that the German word “lager” translates to “stock”. I wonder what the translation of “fridge stocker” is in German, because this back to basics beer is one.*
