This was an odd and confusing review for me. It progressed chronologically* although perhaps not logically.
Dark, black pour, but as bubbly as Doris Day. A foamy top that ruled the roost for a while. A malty aroma, not strong but distinctive. Carbonated head but no bubbles in the beer.
With my first taste I thought to myself that I may not be able to finish this beer, that is how unappealing the first swig was. And let me tell you, it is a very rare brew that I don’t finish.** Thin, bitter, fizzy, watery. Very watery mouthfeel.
But I persevered, as any dedicated reviewer would. As I progressed the bitter began to subside and a nice lager flavour started to replace it. I must admit I was surprised at how the beer evolved over the course of one tasting. The thin, watery feel remained throughout which was unfortunate.
Started nasty and I was very unimpressed, but it evolved into an OK (but still watery) lager.
