I am not the most politically correct person in the world but I am trying.* One way I do that is to run some ideas past the missus. For example, not long ago I asked the wife “Have you seen what is going on with these perverted men taking advantage of women and being called out by the “NotMe” movement?” She replied “You idiot” (she didn’t actually say that but if you are married you know that look) “It isn’t the “NotMe” movement, it is the “MeToo” movement.” Good to know.
So I was looking forward to trying this new offering from Gateway, Real Love. On the can it notes that “A portion of the proceeds go to the North Bay Pride Committee.” So I said to the wife, “That’s a good cause, it is great to see that they are proud of their hometown.” She replied “You idiot” (that look again), “they are talking about the LBGTQ+2 community.” I said “What?” So she explained it to me with no acronyms in small words so I could understand it. Sounds like a good cause, live and let live I always say.
So what about the beer? Great tasting lager, full of flavour and easy drinking. Looked great in the glass, tasted great going down. I enjoyed it. Gateway is a new brewery, expanding its list of offerings, making great beer and supporting local causes. Well done Gateway.
