People ask me, how do you sample so many beers and still stay slim and trim. Actually, no one has ever asked me that, but if they did, I could refer to the Beach Ball Fitness Program™, or how I stay active fishing in the summer and watching hockey in the winter. Of course those all help, but they aren’t the answer. The key is that one out of every 30 beers is a light beer!* Voila, cutting calories, watching what I drink, the secret’s out. That’s how I lighten up.
And after a hard hitting 11 percenter this 4% solution is a welcome and refreshing (one can hope) change.
This is a new brew from Beau’s (the good tractor folks) that the Steam Whistle** rep (the good beer folks) donated to the cause, much appreciated. We have quite enjoyed Beau’s beers over the years, the tractor, the artwork, and of course the beer itself. Some might call us lug nuts! But this “lug lite” (sounds like but not to be confused in any way with Bud Light) is a new addition to the Beau’s arsenal.
This brew pours clear, as you can see, and see through. A bright light golden shade with minimal head that left with the calories. Mild malt aroma. First quaff presents a bit of fizz with a nice mild malt flavour. Smooth and light but flavour present and accounted for. Pilsner like in its freshness. Refreshing.
Great light beer isn’t an oxymoron, just a rarity, but this one sure hit the spot.
Lug Lite reborn.
RS Comment: Just had a Beau’s Lite on the boathouse, the repackaged version of Lug Lite. Still as refreshing as ever.
