Editor’s Comment : Our Ottawa based connoisseur du crafts, JF, weighs in on this friendly Belgian beauty.
Being a bit of old time stubby lover (we are talking about beer here), this one caught my eye. I’ve had a few Belgians in my day, but for sure this was my first Belgian NEIPA!
A mild citrus, almost lime nose from a hazy golden pour with a strong 2 finger fluffy head. The taste, a well balanced hoppy and light tropical sweetness, the word winner comes to mind. The brew master has introduced me to two new hops: Ekuanot and Ariana * along with old standards Callista and Citra.
Well done Brasserie des Légendes, Biere des Amis Cr[h]azy IPA can be my friend anytime.
*Editor’s Comment: Ekuanot hops are a new development from the Hop Breeding Company out of Yakima Valley, Washington State. Ariana Hops are also a recently introduced breed, from the Hop Research Center in Hüll, Germany
