A Monday Mocha Stout to usher in stout season. Perth (Ontario, not Australia)* may not be a big city but Perth Brewery is a brewing big time with some top notch brews and has already charted a few hits on the COM super suds hit parade. So let’s fire up the mocha stout machine and see what this stout is all about.
A bonfire black pour, lager thin and black as molasses in January or any other month or day for that matter. A loco cocoa macho mocha aroma, smells great. First swig is cocoa smooth roast malt coffee with a dry bitter espresso finish, very nice. An easy drinking dark for sure. A roasted malt and cocoa beauty with a mild coffee finish, the dry bitters have dried up. This one seems to have the cocoa, coffee, roasted malt and a touch of vanilla, all in balance. As harmonious as the Beatles, pre-Yoko. This is a very good coffee stout.
A beer this good makes Monday feel just a little like the weekend.
