What were they smoking?
My old buddy RA donated this brew to the cause, so it seemed like a fitting quaff to pipe in a Monday night. Second Wedge tell us that this Scottish style brew is inspired by “the sounds of bag pipes practiced at the Uxbridge legion”. I have a bit of the Scotch in my blood myself, through DNA not ingestion, but I just don’t get the bag pipes. Loud and screechy like last week when my rear brake pads gave up the ghost. If you were to punch a hole in that wind bag I wouldn’t squeal like those pipes. I wonder what they were smoking when they came up with the idea for bag pipes? Come to think of it, a bag pipe does look a lot like a hookah, doesn’t it. Put that in your bag pipe and smoke it.
Cheering on Plan B tonight but they performed just like Plan A. The Monday night version of the Oilers looked nothing like the well-oiled machine of the other night. Fonger said maybe it’s time for Plan C. Could be the Blue Jays. Or maybe I’ll just go fishing.

This bar serves minors.
How about this brew. It pours caramel brown and clear, with a touch of a toffee tam on top. Malt aroma for sure with the smell of caramel, and I mean the candy, not the sea lions of Clint’s Caramel.** A Mackintosh malt mix. A very easy, watery mouthfeel with mild malt toffee, no hops bitters or crisp but maybe a slightly dry finish. Easy drinking that’s for sure, almost a light with such a watery constitution. Too malty to be refreshing, but the malt toffee combo is quite tasty. This could be on tap at the Mackintosh toffee bar***. Malt and toffee only, no tart in this tartan.
