As the boys from ACDC would say, “I’m back in black”. While autumn gives way to winter, as it so often does, I thought it was time to sample a stout. But not just any stout. How about a 100% Canadian Stout. We all know the world needs a little more Canada.
A stubby stout at that. Nice dark pour with a thin touch of tan head. A bit of a smoky aroma which had me worried because I am not a smoky beer fan. But it turns out there was smoke but no fire! None of it showed up in the taste. It is a full bodied stout, that sounded redundant but makes sense when you think about it. Full of flavour, hearty and healthy but not harsh. Healthy you say? Stout is rich in flavonoids which contain powerful antioxidants that can help protect against diseases and reduce levels of cholesterol. Stouts are also high in vitamin B.* So next time you open a V8, slap yourself on the forehead and say “I could have had a Stout”.
This stubby is short on ounces but not on flavour, this a great stout. Winter may be a bit more bearable now.
