Dad was a proud union man although he complained as much about the union as he did about the company. I guess it’s true, there is no perfect union, but it doesn’t hurt to strive for a more perfect one.* I remember the old man saying that anyone that crossed the picket line was a scab. I remember having a big scab on my knee from wiping out on my bike, and my Mother had told me “if you pick it, it won’t heal”. Childhood can be confusing at times. **

Roll Out the Foeder, and We’ll Have a Foeder of Fun
Other than a flimsy word association, what this has to do with Bellwoods White Picket Fence, their saisonal brew of the foeder persuasion, is nothing. This certainly isn’t our first saison, and not our first foeder either. We’re rolling out that great big oak barrel and hoping we will have a barrel of fun with this foeder blended wily wheat.***
A light golden pour with two fingers of froth to blow off. A wheat tang in the nose, almost a sour. The taste follows suit, and it’s there in spades. A sour tang wheat hint of banana, interesting, definitely and decidedly different. Now some lemon shows up as the tang tapers off a bit for a lemon banana wheat, with some spices in there to boot. To be honest, I liked the tang better. If Neocitran made a citrus banana flavour this would be it. Complex is a bit of an understatement.
I’m on the fence on this one, it was fairly easy drinking but not for everyone. For a seasoned saison sudser it maybe the cat’s pyjamas, but it’s not your dad’s beer, or my dad’s either.
