A killer upside down pissin’ panda.
Some fun panda facts for you. These white black big back bears spend 10 to 16 hours a day eating bamboo but they don’t get fat. Know why? No, it’s not because they don’t eat cupcakes. It’s because a panda is just a regular bear, as in very regular. They crap up to 40 times a day. That’s more than RA’s milk bone loving lactose intolerant hound. And even more (although not much more) than the otter that shits on my dock. And pandas can piss while doing a handstand!
Now that we have addressed the basic bodily functions of the panda bear we can get down to beer tasting business with this weird is normal “cute can be vicious” named brew from our favourite airborne simian aviators, those fearless but never beerless Flying Monkeys. **
A golden semi-clear pour, with a substantial and solid head of foam. I thought it might be an overflow situation but the head subsided slightly and then the dense froth stayed the course, a start to finish cupcake frosting. Sweet vanilla makes for a candy fruit nose with some killer hops in the background. First taste is vanilla sweet candied fruit with a hoppy strong finish to remind you it is a double after all. A full almost creamy mouthfeel, but is it too sweet to beat?
With such a sweet disposition you can actually big swig this heavy-handed heavy headed double with no ill effects This candy juicer does have a killer instinct but seems almost too sweet to be homicidal. I’m not that sweet on sweets but this one seemed to satisfy my sweet tooth. The only pairing I usually suggest with a beer is me, but in this case a salty snack suited the situation. Chips and dip fit the program to a T.
Vanilla sweet and tropical juice are the main attractions with a middlin’ to heavy hoppy finish on this heady and steady high ABV double. Maybe this panda had me bamboo-zled for a bit… or is that bam-booze-led? But in the end there’s no murder mystery here, just a regular (very regular) ol’ panda bear, more cute than vicious, pissin’ up your tree and calling it rain.
