Art appreciation day at COMDB, as in a Peak to Peak limited release IPA No 27 from Collective Arts. How about some word association with this art appreciation. Peak to Peak brings to mind Twin Peaks which makes me think of David Lynch. David Lynch makes me think of the movie Blue Velvet, and right away Dennis Hopper comes to mind. Dennis Hopper makes me think of the movie Easy Rider. Easy Rider makes me think of all the Easy Rider rifle racks I saw in the mountains of Idaho. And were back to the mountains. Somehow Kevin Bacon didn’t show up in these six degrees of separation, or maybe he just did?*
CA has some art on the can by Avery Elias reminiscent of the Group of Seven which is high praise indeed. Time to see if what’s in the can can garner as much praise as what’s on the can.
A sunny sunrise over the mountain kind of pour with a snow cap head. No bubbling brook here. Stone fruit on the nose. First taste yields tropical juice with a clear mountain stream mouthfeel, watery and refreshing. Which leads immediately to a crisp barely bitter finish. The crisp evolves into a full pine or grapefruit (take your pick) bitter finish, which goes well with the stone tropical fruit body. Fruit, bang, bitters, the immediacy is evident, interesting and refreshing.
Maybe I’m no art aficionado,** but when it comes to beer, I certainly appreciate Collective Arts.
