An old buddy of mine was extolling the virtues of pickleball. “Pickleball, heard of it?” Before I could respond he continued his diatribe, “Great game, ever play tennis?“ I wasn’t sure if he wanted an answer to this question , but there was a long enough pause for a reply. “Not professionally, or in any other capacity come to think of it”. He was on a roll, ”pickleball is better, great exercise and goes easy on these old bones.”
I caught up with him a month later and being the brilliant conversationalist I am, I asked him about pickleball. “Haven’t played in a while, guess I over did it. Just had a hip replacement.” I think it was Shakira who said “hips don’t lie” but it appears they do wear out eventually. * I’ll pass on pickleball, I think my hips will thank me.
This ultra light bright lime cerveza is a Trestle creation, pickleball ninja hydration. I guess it’s designed for the avid pickleballer after an intense court session, or after an afternoon on the operating table?
At first I thought it was crystal clear but upon further examination it has a bit of a haze to it. Absolutely no head, no wisp, foam or froth. A watery aroma with a touch of citrusy lime, so faint it could be a fabrication of my subconsciousness. Imagine that.
The taste follows suit, very light and watery with a mild citrusy lime flavour and a lime tang finish. All as light as a lime chiffon. As the quaffing progressed the taste seemed familiar but I couldn’t place it. It came to me in a sudden, Gatorade! The perfect post pickleball pint.
It is a 3 percenter after all. Easy refreshing ultra light. More water than beer if that’s what you’re looking for.
*Editor’s Comment: The 2005 hit song “Hips Don’t Lie”, the Shakira and Wyclef Jean duet, introduced the world to the Shakira’s trademark hip shimmy and shake.
