Tame Name but a Good Aim

IPA Beer*

Woodhouse Brewing Co.

This brew poured darker than most IPAs, a bit hazy, and managed to get all worked up into a head full of foam. No bubbles in the beer itself, they were all topside. That excess head was quite possibly my fault as I was eager to quench my thirst and may have rushed my pour a bit. Hurry up and wait as they say, as I let the head settle.

It has a nice mild citrus aroma, you can tell the hops (all five varieties) are chomping at the bit to get out. A nice citrus taste, great mouthfeel encouraging swigs instead of sips, or perhaps that was my state of thirst doing the encouraging. The finish was piney and crisp and a bit bitter but not too much so. It all combined for a nice refreshing IPA. I do like my beer cold but as the beer warmed a bit I noticed the fruit came out more and the pine bitter was less pronounced. Of course by the time the finish was evolving I was finishing, I did mention I was thirsty, didn’t I?  A nice craft beer style IPA with a good aim, because it hit the spot.

*Editor’s Comment: Looks like that was a pretty tame beer naming party.
