The Hazy Mariner

IX Poets Brewery

5.3% Alcohol

“Water, water, everywhere, and not a drop to drink”, says Coleridge in his classic poem “The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner”.* I say who needs water when you have a Hazy Mariner IPA. The Hazy Mariner is a cloudy IPA, and according to IX Poets there is “water, water everywhere, but this is full of hops.”

I really enjoyed this IPA, not that hoppy in my opinion. A nice easy drinking IPA that fits the bill for a hot summer day thirst quencher. And hot it was today.

It was walk on the sun hot, so this IPA hit the spot. How is that for some classic poetry. Maybe I can be the tenth poet?**

A bit cloudy hazy in the glass, but very easy drinking, no bitter, and just a bit hoppy. A frosty cold IPA like The Hazy Mariner on a hot day like today equals a super refreshing quaff.  This is IX Poets first brew, I look forward to sampling more of their offerings.

*Editor’s Comment: Actually Coelridge’s original wording was “Water, water, everywhere, nor any drop to drink”, in his classic poem "The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere".

Reviewer’s Response: So Coelridge wasn’t the greatest at spelling, no need to point that out now. Not like it’s constructive criticism for a guy who has been dead a few hundred years.

**Editor’s Comment: Leonard Cohen you are not.
