Artisanal salts? Blackcurrants? Electrolytes? As I watched the Super Bowl and poured this unique sounding beer I wondered to myself whether I was going to be sampling beer or Gatorade? They describe their beer as highly electrolytic? Does that mean it removes hair?
Nice golden ale with a golden pour. A touch hazy (unfiltered) with a nice white top hat. The aroma was hard to put a finger on, let alone a nose. My first impression was fresh, with some malt overtones. Not hoppy. My first taste was very fresh, nice crisp dry finish. I have tasted this beer before, but where? It nagged at me for half this tasting, where do I know this beer from? Then it came to me in a sudden, this beer tastes like an Asahi Super Dry. Not just dry, but super dry! Asahi’s Super Dry is a special lager with a very crisp dry finish. Just like this Trail Blazer.
Very easy drinking ale with a smooth light malt flavour and a very crisp finish. Not at all hoppy or bitter.
Super dry, Super Bowl. Coincidence? I think not. Just like the game, an entertaining beer with an electrifying and satisfying finish.
