Reaping the Substantial Benefits of Physical Inactivity

Physical Inactivity

Refined Fool Brewing Co.

5% Alcohol

I’m a team player.

Chasing the grandkids all weekend, swimming, boating, fishing. Whipping up some Chef-Roy-ardee delights on the old BBQ.   Dogs and burgs, burnt and crispy on the bun, char-nished and garnished garishly. By the end of the day I was beat like a Neil Peart* drum and craving some physical inactivity. Luckily I had one in the beer fridge. A Refined Fool Physical Inactivity Pale Ale to be precise.

That’s right, the Refined Fool’s summer beer league is in full swig and I’m just another fool riding the pale ale pines, on the inactive list and happy to be there, no sweat (literally). On the sidelines cheering on the team and critiquing plays that that on my best day I could never have made.

So here I am at the lake with the cottage mix on the old IPod, chillin’ and swillin’. I don’t have anything against the wind but apparently Bob does.* Where was I? Oh, yea, a glass full of Physical Inactivity.

A light golden orange pour, with head lights on bright. A juicy hoppy IPA imitation on the nose. The first taste is watery juicy, a bit fizzy, a bit hoppy with some pine bitters riding the pines with me. This pale settles into a mild watery juicer with pine bitters, easy drinking and quite refreshing after a hectic day of play by the bay. This is light hoppy session-IPA-like refreshing pale, so nice I’ll say it twice, so nice.

*Editor’s Comment: Neil Peart was the drummer for the Canadian rock band Rush. In addition to being known as one of the best in the business when it came to drummers, he was also a prolific writer and published a number of excellent books.

**Editor’s Comment: “Against the Wind” is a 1979 top ten song and album by Bob Seger.
