So this is a Country Kolsch? I have heard of Kolsch but why Country? So I went to Cowbells’ website and once I confirmed that I was over drinking age (3 times plus I figure) they let me in. So here is the story. They wanted to make a Kölsch but make it their own so they removed the umlaut and called it Country Kolsch. Sounds like they wanted to avoid the restrictions over brewing a traditional Kölsch , and what the hell is an umlaut? Anyway, this is an umlaut, ö, the two dots over the o. I thought it was just some dirt on my screen. So more research, to pronounce the ö-sound, say “ay” as in day. So a Kaylsch? How do you pronounce “lsch”? I went to google to check on this, and here is what it said “ l s c h.” What kind of a smart-ass website is that google anyway. I still don’t know how to pronounce it. Too much research for this beer.
Good beer, nice flavor. I know it is a Country Kolsch but I still can’t pronounce it. I’ll just call it Absent Landlord.
