I was happy to try out this dark lager from the Harald Haus (don’t you guys have spellcheck). I chilled a glass, when I go to the dark side I like my beer colder than a stepmother’s kiss. Lay’s low salt chips (at my age trying to eat healthy) with ranch dip. So the can has the Readers’ Digest bio on old Bill Dingham who has a long list of auspicious achievements but his real claim to fame is he was Vice-Chair of the Liquor Control Board in 1915. Handling all the vice generated by the liquor control board in 1915 (or at any time) must be quite the job, would keep a guy busy that’s for sure. Well done, Bill. His picture on the can looks like he just got his liquor license revoked, the type of guy if he had a pocket full of smiles he wouldn’t give you one.
What about Bill’s beer? Nice dark pour with substance. A nice tan head, like Bill’s head by the end of the summer. So far so good. Smooth and flavourful, an enjoyable dark lager. Good job Bill. Looks like more dark days ahead.
