I think I know what a stone fruit * is but what the hell is a kickflip?** Peach tends to be my stone fruit of choice, as for kickflips, this NEIPA from Clear Lake is my kickflip of choice, seeing as I am not sure what one is so this is the only one I am familiar with. Is the brewer a gymnast who does flips for kicks? Or a skilled soccer star? Or a martial artist decimating his opponents with his signature move, the flying flip kick? More likely none of the above than all of the above. Maybe this brew has a kick I will flip over? One thing for sure, this is a brew I will review.
Doing some fine and refined dining at the CL brew house, nachos to share and a Kickflip draft not to share. Our gracious host graciously agreed to grace the feature picture of this review. Little did she know just how much this sudden and unexpected fame would change her life! That of course being little to none from this website, but we all know that fame is fleeting anyway.***
This draft pours clear lake clear, peachy golden with a white and well organized froth of a head on top of things. No bubbles. A stone fruit aroma, peach perhaps no kick indicated. A nice fruit flavour, mild and peachy, with a bit of fizz and a touch of bitter. No kick to it, more like a polite tap on the shoulder from someone shy and socially awkward. A mild and easy drinking mouthfeel, the word smooth comes to mind. A bit of grapefruit Iike bitters evolve in the finish near the finish.
All in all a nice easy quaffing NE Flipkick.
