My old buddy JS loves Poland, raves about it and spends lots of time there. Me, I’ve been to lots of places all over the world but never Poland. But you get to a point in your life where you don’t say “someday” anymore. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’ll never make it to Poland. Unless of course Warka loves this review so much that I will get an all expense paid trip to tour the brewery. Highly doubtful, but never say never I always say.

Strong arming that bottle.
But this isn’t just any Warka, no sirree, this is a Warka STRONG! The handsome rugby player with a headful of hair and a handful of Warka is going full throttle out of the bottle, in the local bar celebrating his winning try. Meanwhile I’m here with half a headful of hair, and half a glass full of Warka, in my lazy boy in front of the big screen, watching the Leafs try to win in OT. *
But this strong lager has me reminiscing about cold nights and warm Brador way back in the day. ** Time to snap the cap on this bottle rocket and polish off this Polish pint.
A clear copper coloured craft, with a misty morning slim trim frosting of head. The aroma is aggressive malt espresso, it smells strong and smoky. First swig is an interesting slightly burnt caramel malt body with a bit of lager sweet to go with the booziness backside. Full flavoured for sure. It works just fine as a big swigger, not quite strong enough to be a sip and savour. There is a lot of flavour to better enjoy at your leisure so a steady swig works better than big one. They call it strong, I’ve had stronger, I think full flavoured is a better descriptor.
A good solid lager with a bit extra.
