Shaka Dude!
Around our house the queen of crafts is definitely the missus, she can knit a quilt like nobody’s business. Me, I can barely knit my brow. I may not be royalty at home or abroad, but I know a thing or two about craft brews. Wellington tell us they are celebrating 10 years of women’s beer education and fund raising with Queen of Craft IPA. Well done Wellie. Not sure what the surf picture on the can has to do with beer, or the state of the union for that matter. Never surfed myself (crowd or waves) but I guess if I did try I would be a kook and sketchy and end up rail banging or tombstoning or in the washing machine.*
Back to the craft at hand, that being the craft in my hand. A hazy muted pineapple juice coloured pour with some white water* on top. An aroma of hoppy tart and fruit. Citrus tropical surf. The taste is a tsunami of fruity freshness, some hops and a bit of fizz. Definitely fruit forward, waves of fruit pineapple bitters make for a nice citrus fruit finish too. As balanced as I wouldn’t be on a long board. Chips and dip go with just about everything and this brew is no exception. Easy drinking fruit forward with a bit of tangy bitter fruit in the finish. This brew is rad, peeling* and appealing.
