As we have said many times over the years, the artistry on the can and the creativity of the name don’t amount to a hill of beans when it comes to good beer. The clan from Tooth and Nail Brewing validate our take on things. The can has a fairly industrial look with just the key facts – Brewery, Name and Type of beer on the label. You also get a picture on the label that you need to work at to figure out the connection with the three key facts. The time to drink the beer can be considerably shorter than the time necessary to work out the connection.
Here we have a Czech-Inspired Pale Ale (meaning the Hops and Barley are Czech) called Grace and Gratitude with a picture of a rabbit riding a snapping turtle Ya, I know. You need a minute. I had the advantage of having the cold brew right in front of me which always helps my figuring. In the time it took me to drink this delicious brew I had concluded that the grace was the rabbit climbing and staying on the turtle while the gratitude was to the brew master who concocted such a fine bevy. *
A nice golden colour, this beer has lots of flavour for a relatively light weight contender (4.5%). Enough bitterness to keep things interesting – the folks at Tooth and Nail can make great pale ale. The cans are distinctive and ponderable, the contents fantastic.
