This is a surprising flavourful beer for a Session Ale. Not really sure how they managed to get 45 IBU with the relatively low alcohol – but it is very good. I guess the pig is part of the local fair? The brewery trademark has a tractor driven by a pig as well – so I’m guessing this Clarke thing is a major part of Thornbury. I haven’t tried a Thornbury brew before and am impressed with this one. This beer pairs well with football – I tested this myself and both were enhanced. Since the superbowl is coming I might have to restock. But hockey season has started as well, so I will consult with my cranky friends about beer pairing for hockey and we will report back.
