I’m no expert about the weather so I am not qualified to comment on the types of linings that may be prevalent in a various cloud types. But on a more cirrus note, I’m not sure that every cloud has a silver lining unless of course the cloud has been seeded with silver iodide.* Although I’m no meteorologist, I was recently afforded the title of Beerologist, ** a much more useful “ologist” in my line of work, that being quaffing a pint or two.
And it’s good to be back at Quayle’s farm, if not in body at least in spirit and spirits, with their dark lager. An award winner no less, this silver scored the gold! *** A dark and ominous nimbostratus pour, blocking out the sun in the general vicinity of my glass. No lining of silver apparent from where I’m pouring. A roasted malt aroma, more inviting than ominous. The taste is a very light bodied dark with roasted malt, some cocoa sweet and a flat dry finish, great sequence and well balanced. Almost a dark berry touch in there. The dry aftertaste adds to the complexity.
Full flavoured so not a big swigger, but a very tasty dark. This beer is the silver lining in this review.
