Time for the daily grind, just catching up on my brew reviews with my first java jolt of the morning. When it comes to coffee I’ll never catch up to Farmer Steve who is probably just finishing his first pot. Meanwhile Fonger is still dreaming about the pot from the previous evening.
But nothing can spoil your first cup of joe more than current events. If you want to kickoff your day with a huge shot of espresso negativity, any anchorman who isn’t Will Ferrell can take care of that for you. *
No news is new news these days. But a Couchiching Cold Current Coffee stout tasting is hopefully a positive current event. This was a Cold Current I could dive into without a defibrillator handy.
A pour as black as can be, with an off white frosty froth. A two bold bean cocoa coffee aroma. First taste is a surprisingly sweet cocoa body that climbs on board the espresso express for a big bold finish. The coffee cocoa is strong but balanced for a toasty tasty sweet treat. I like the strength, I like the balance. A bit sweeter than a typical coffee stout but the sequence and balance all come together nicely.
Another super suds dark from the Couchiching craft brew crew.
