Lazy Tiger

Wellington Brewery

3.6% Alcohol

After eating a steak with 5 roofies in it, the tiger in the movie The Hangover was definitely lazy.* The tiger was nicknamed “Tyson” and the story line is art imitating life. Mike Tyson actually owned three tigers cubs at one time and kept one until adulthood. He had to say goodbye to his full grown pet tiger Kenya after it bit a lady’s arm off. Yes, you heard me (or read me) right. Bit someone’s arm off.** Not so lazy after all.

The movie; not real. Tyson; unreal but very real.

This Lazy Tiger from Wellington is far less dangerous than “Tyson” (the boxer or the tiger). A “little IPA”, a lite verging on microlite at 3.6%. and at 5 IBU definitely low hoppiness for an IPA of any kind.

A muted orange pour, very clear and very bubbly. A very mild juice aroma, no tiger in this tank. The taste is fizzy with mild citrus and a bit of malt funk in there too, all very laid back except the champagne style fizz fest. No bitters or hoppiness detected   Light and bubbly, it is what it says it is, a little IPA. A light and breezy quaff on a sunny day at the beach perhaps.

If Tony the Tiger was doing this brew reviewing, I don’t think this brew would be an “It’s Great”. But it is good.

*Editor’s Comment: Alan had the roofies (Rohypol) to feed the tiger, yet no one figured out the reason why they couldn’t remember the night before until near the end of the movie?

**Editor’s Comment: According to Tyson, a neighbour came into his yard and the 550lb full grown Bengal tiger attacked her and bit her arm off. They tried to sue him but failed because she was trespassing but he gave her $250,000 in compensation for the accident. Shortly after that he donated his tiger “Kenya” to a local zoo. The tiger in the movie “The Hangover” was nicknamed “Tyson”.

Final Rating: Tony the Tiger says “It’s Good” at 14 out of 20
