Una Más

Muddy York Brewing Co.

4.6% Alcohol

“Una Más” required a frantic reach out to the COMDB translation department. With their trademark disdain to all of us who are unilingual, they informed me that “the obvious translation is “one more”. I told them, “but I’m a one and done kinda guy”.  “Una y Listo? Ese es tu problema, amigo” they replied and there they were, gone.

Oliver wanted more, but he did say please. In “Pretty Woman” Edward Lewis (Richard Gere) said he invented the concept. And Sammy Hagar wanted “Más Tequila”.*  Will this be a wish I had more kind of brewski or an I’m glad it’s one and done kinda of suds? Time to taste and tell.

This Muddy York of a Mexcali is a bright light pale clear pour, very light like some Weiss guys. With a bright white light upright froth of a quaff topper. A grainy malt aroma, malt and corn ingrained. The taste is a light malt with a light maize and a touch of tingle. Refreshing, balanced and easy drinking. As it warmed is gained grain, nothing outlandish, not a farmer’s field full, just enough to let you know, you know.

A good traditional light Mexican lager.

*Editor’s Comment: In Dicken’s “Oliver Twist” young Oliver has the tenacity to ask for more “Please, sir, I want some more.” In “Pretty Women” Edward Lewis says “I know about wanting more. I invented the concept.” “Más Tequila” is a 1999 song by Samy Hagar and may well have been one of the best marketing songs ever (next to Buffet’s Margaritaville of course). Hagar’s tequila brand Cabo Wabo, which he launched in 1996, he sold for $100 Million in 2008. Más dinero.
