I got down to downtown Hogtown’s Beertown, so here’s the lowdown on what was going down. It may not surprise you to know that what was going down at Beertown is beer and lots of it. With so many brews from which to choose what was I to do? Shout out to Haley at Beertown who was very helpful. We were a good match. She is a knowledgeable self-professed lover of beer and their Beverage Manager, and that’s the truth. While I am an often-illegible not often self-possessed lover of beer who is barely managing, truth be told.
The COM aren’t new to Beertown, having enjoyed their Thin Man collab brew Trial by Muskrat. As for Third Moon, we sampled their Return to Nothingness before and found it to be quite something.

Who to believe?
Jack Nicholson questioned our ability to handle the truth, Edith Ann told us “that’s the truth”,* and the COM told us that truth in advertising is an oxymoron, and ain’t that the truth. The truth may not be clear at times, particularly around an election, but every now and then we see vestiges of verité, and we are left to cope with candor and face the facts that emerge from Vistas of Truth. Super segue if I do say so, let’s see if we end up with some super suds too.
A banana yellowy orange pint of a pour. Quite bright with a quickly dissipating head of white. The aroma is citrus grapefruit, is there a touch of banana in there too? The taste is big juice, little funk with very slight end run bitters with a grapefruit bitter aftertaste. All coming together just right. Nice sequence and great balance. By the way, there is no banana in the taste in case you were wondering. It’s big swig test time, a pass with flying colours! Great hazy IPA, very tasty with a full mouthfeel. The great taste passed the test of time, and stayed the course throughout.
The COM may reminisce a bit and some stories grow larger than life over time, but when it comes to beer there is no tall tale telling here. The verdict is in, this is a most enjoyable quaff and that’s the truth.
