Is this bring your Ursus Maritimus to the bar week or what? After an Eisbӓren bock bear, now we are sampling a Boréale big white bear beer. Then there was that polar park pilsner we partook in. Or that high flying great white in flight from Maverick. I could go on an on since there is definitely no shortage of bears beer at the cranky old bar. * Although we do miss our old friend the NO bear who is NO more. Let’s leave this link laden intro.
Are there polar bears in Québec you ask? ** Mais oui, mon amis. Yes, those not so cuddly big white seal eaters parlez vous too. But they reside in the far Northern arctic regions of the province. The only polar bears near Boréale’s Montreal based brewery are up in Québec City at the Aquarium du Québec. Time for a cranky old man wrestling bears review.

Maybe not everywhere but certainly here in this beer.
A clear golden pour, with some slim trim great white topping things off. Malt and fresh are the two aromas that come to mind. The taste is malt with a touch of the ol’ lager sweet with a very dry pils like finish. A fresh crisp flavourful lager. I really enjoyed this classic lager that goes above and beyond the ordinary with a bit of craftsmanship. They tell us this is brewed with “le savoir faire québécois” and they ain’t lyin’. Savoir faire isn’t everywhere,*** but it is definitely present and accounted for in this brew.
