Just like a Ghostbusters sequel, this brew seemed hauntingly familiar. So just like the goose, I took a gander, checking out our COMDB archives for a Blood Brothers deja brew review. It appears that there may be some politically motivated rebranding afoot.
I was never enticed to get into politics. With below average looks and above average intelligence, coupled with a vicious streak of honesty, it just didn’t seem like a fit for me, or me for it.* But it appears that the BB brewers have their eye on the political barometer and with things heating up this beer went from a Mighty Eagle with a stars and stripes background, to a Mighty maple leaf Lager, same font to boot, which all makes sense. But why keep the eagle? Seems like a marketing faux pas to me? If it were me I would have flipped the bird, but I guess that wouldn’t be politically correct now would it.
A golden semi clear pint, add one perfectly placed foamy head and you have a picturesque pour. Malt but not malty on the nose. The taste is malty with lager sweet going immediately to ale bitters. The sequence actually enhances the refreshment.
Same beer, different year, same score, and nothing more.
