Here we have an interesting pale ale to enjoy, and not a moment too soon. It’s certainly not spur of the moment, but it may be momentous, perhaps even a defining moment. But since it is Old Flame and it is Cranky Old Men Drinking Beer most likely it will be a senior moment.
Here at COM we seem to have a love affair with one Old Flame after another. Here they are again, inviting us to take a moment to enjoy the moment, and it seems like there is mo’ moment in this review than I have the time for. Time to po’ and sco’.
A semi hazy golden pour is melting away the frost off my tankard. A very tropical juicy aroma with some hoppy bitters in there too. A very juicy pale ale, tropical with the malt inducing a bit of a funky body with some hoppy bitters. It all makes for a nice sequence and a balanced and flavour forward pale. Juicier than most pales but not a puree. Tropical and tasty.
And now the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the rating. Will this be one magic moment or will we be stuck in a moment you can’t get out of? *
