Is it ironic or fitting, or both, that the phrase “double time” has multiple meanings. It could be a marching command from a gnarly staff seargeant.* Or a movie director calling out for Harrison Ford’s stunt double.** Or me getting twice the pay for writing this review on the weekend. Or it could mean it’s time for me to down this Double IPA from Bridgewater.
This bridge water pours a golden hazy orange, with some bright white frost on the railing. A zingy zippy juicy aroma. Happy and hoppy with fruit to boot. The taste is hops with bitters and fruit in a nice balance, you can tell it’s a double but just. This one just slid into second to beat the tag by a hair, not an almost homer bounce out of the park double. Very tasty and at 6% not boozy like some doubles, more like a hazy IPA but still full bodied. Nice full mouthfeel.
No troubled water under this bridge; if this is water under the bridge, then take me to the bridge.***
