According to Sawdust City’s, Electric Storm Sour IPA, and I quote “ Like a face melting guitar solo, this sour IPA smashes into your brain, brings you to your knees and forces you to pray for mercy to the almighty gods of RAWK”! However, according to the first commandment “thou shalt have no other gods before Me.” **
The situation presented me with a moral dilemma. Should I drink this electric kick ass beer and perhaps succumb to the “almighty gods of RAWK” or should I play it safe and check the beer fridge for a lager or a light beer and save my soul? And why did they spell if RAWK? Despite all the self doubt and my concerns about spelling I must admit I did have a hankerin’ for a Sawdust sour, and it appears that the spirits were strong but the flesh was weak, so I rolled the dice and took my chances.

RAWK & Roll
On a side note, I had the pleasure of visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland last month and I would highly recommend it as a great alternative to falling to your knees and praying for mercy to those aforementioned gods. The visit was moral dilemma free apart from me not paying for parking, at least I didn’t park in a handicap space.
A hazy orange pour, amplified and electric. A tropical juicy sour aroma, interesting, inviting and enticing. The taste is a very citrus tropical juicer with a slightly tart crisp dry finish, subtle but not shy. Definitely a sour to start with but the tart mellowed a bit and this was as close to a hazy IPA as a sour can get, or vice versa. What was nice to see was that despite the high ABV for a sour, it was not at all boozy. An enjoyable well balanced sour IPA wannabe, or is that an IPA sour wannabe?
Although this was a strong sour, I didn’t end up on my knees or on my ass. But I did quite enjoy this electric and eclectic combo.
